SPAIN: HEADING FOR WORSE

The euro-area ticked up to 11.6% in September, up 1.3 percentage points from a year before. There are 18.5m unemployed adults between the age of 15 and 64, over 2m more than there were a year ago. Youth unemployment rates in Greece and Spain are 55.6% and 54.2%, respectively.

But peripheral bond yields are down, so presumably all is well.
